Thank you. Nalley Smyrna offered 5500+Lexus cash and butler offered 4750+Lexus cash on their original quotes. Didn't negotiate at all. I will try for close to 7k plus lexus cash

I personally think you got a good deal. Just plug in Cali taxes into the equation and you will get the discount.

51k-discount+taxes=46k

My salesman tried to tell me today that the 2500 lexus cash is the % discount! And thats the only way for me to get the promotional APR! So let me get this straight before I get back to him...the 10-12% that everyone seems to be getting is SEPARATE from the current offer of 2,500 cash OR 1.9 APR (Texas). And it is also separate from the college grad $1000???

THANK YOU!

Question for everyone who made a purchase.. does lexus cash apply before or after TTL? My dealer states lexus cash is not a rebate therefore it applies after the final drive out price. I wish the Lexus cash would apply before TtL it would save me a little bit of tax money.

after from my understanding. you pay tax on the discounted price before the lexus cash. so the 2500 lexus cash would be taxed.
hope that makes sense. have to wait a few weeks to be 100% sure, still waiting for my 17 rx450 to be built.

What the dealer is telling you is accurate. The tax is calculated on the agreed upon purchase price and before the $2500 cash back is applied.

Cash incentives almost always are after tax transactions. Sorry.

like others have said, the lexus discount is taxable
now if your dealer is awesome and discounts the 10+% or any discount, the msrp, less this amount is the taxable amount.
quick math, 50k 2k dealer discount, 2k lexus cash. you are taxed on the 48k, not 46k. (i know the cash is different, just a quick easy example.)

We almost finalized a Lexus rx350 today. MSRP 59964. Initially the salesperson wanted to provide just the Costco discount of 3648 bringing it down to 56316.
We negotiated for a 10% discount on the MSRP which would be less $5996 . The best the sales person said he could do was only $5148. And also the Lexus incentive cash offer by this dealer was only $2000, where as it stated $2500 on the Lexus website and the other dealers websites too. We walked away, leaving the negotiation still open.

Am feeling confused as to why would a salesman want to lose a sale with just 800$ buffer, he has lot of 2017 rx350s in his lot? And can dealers reduce the Lexus cash incentive provided ?

It could be a number of things that might make the salesman not budge on $800. Here in Washington they won't budge under 'invoice'. Think that might be due to the fact that they know they can sell these cars for a higher profit margin. I went out of state and had better offers. Washington wouldn't offer anything more than 5.7% off msrp. I think the Lexus cash offer is $2500 nationwide, but I could be wrong though. It possibly could be one of their tactics to make a profit, similar to how I received offers that included the $2500 cash offer. In all, I was able to negotiate 8.8% off msrp not including the $2500 cash offer. I made inquiries at all dealerships in-state and all provided different invoice numbers. One dealership even said $800 over invoice was a great deal, and this dealership said their invoice cost was 3.3% under msrp..... Best of luck, take your time, and work with those who are willing to work with you.

Thank you to all who gave me advice!

My Lexus plus dealer quoted me about $3000 off a fully loaded $62000 FSport and $2700 off a $55000 premium. Theses discounts are before the 2500 Lexus cash. We didn't buy it today.

I would love to get similar discounts like you all got but the next dealer is 3 hours away.

I'm driving 3 hours away to save 3k+. Send them an email, it might just work out.
