My 2017 and 2015 RX's are both aniline leather as offered in the luxury package. 2015 RX seats were soft and somewhat comfortable on long trips. 2017 RX seats are hard as a rock but somehow they don't seem uncomfortable and they don't put undue pressure on any one point of my body. The Nuluxe seats in my 2105 ES-350 were the best I've ever had in any car in terms of comfort and material quality.

 

I find the f-sport seats to be too tight on width (I am average height and weight). I purchased a 2017 fully-loaded luxury package ($75k list) in Canada....and owned it for less than a month. I have owned several RX's 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2013 and have found the seats to be some of the best on the market. The 17 seat was so uncomfortable to me that I was virtually squirming all the time while driving. I tried cushions and even had an upholstery dealer custom fit a piece of foam to the driver's seat - all to no avail. I went on line and found a 2015 RX with a tech package (ML stereo + HUD etc) and ditched the 17 - fortunately my 17 had been a Lexus company car so i did not lose money. It just seem contured completely wrong and the seat seemed off centered - firm is fine. I tried all of the seats - even the ones in the rear and they all seemed to me to be totally lacking in back support... So my conclusion, is that Lexus just does not seem to be building cars that fit me -- I did have a 2017 NX as a loaner and those seats were comfortable but the vehicle is just too small for my likes...I did try the Highlander and the front seats seem to be ok. So for the time being after 17 years, I am bidding adieu to Lexus. My advice to any potential buyer is go for an extended test drive and don't buy one on the first time trying it.

 

Just don’t buy the F Sport ! I agree they are way too tight and hard . The luxury seats are really good without all the silly bolsters

 

This is kind of a personal preference issue. I like my softer Toyota Camry seats over Lexus RX 350 seats.

Even though I liked the features on F-Sport version, I went with 2017 non-F sport Luxury package because I didn't like the F-sport seats. I missed the Sport+ driving option, but in return I got a bit of a comfortable ride. I agree with the OP... the seats are hard and I emailed Lexus Canada. They said it takes times to get soft as time progress because all high quality leather started out hard and get softer over time. I don't know if this is true or not, but I assume it is because otherwise this is going to be an issue if they are providing wrong/incorrect info to their customers.

 

Each have their own preference in mattress. Same with car seating.
