I'm new to Lexus and I'm confused with my F Sport drive modes. When I switch to Sport mode I notice that it still flashes Eco periodically on the display. I don't know how to confirm that the transmission is truly in Sport mode.
On my 450h F-Sport, the outside color of the tachometer changes from blue to white. The mode is also displayed in the middle of it and temporarily displays on the nav screen.
Eco lamp indicator does NOT mean your driving in eco mode. All this means is that you are driving economically in ANY mode including sport and sport+. Theoretically you could still drive econmically in a V8 Corvette Stingray. If the stingray came equipped with that light indicator.
The more you step on the gas the less you will see that light, the less you step on gas the more you will see it. Other manufactuers do the same thing but instead of the word eco lighted up its the picture of a green leaf.
you can turn off this eco display in the display mode in your dash. But yes, all it does it says that you are driving economically haha. AKA slow under 2,000 RPMS.
I turned mine off. There is a guy who did a real life scenario with eco sport mode and found .5 difference in mpg.

Those same guys who drive in eco mode to gain 0.5 mpg are also the ones likely to pump Regular 87 octane gas in their premium octane only cars like the RX hybrids. LoL. The savings are minuscule. Since i have owned my GS350 i have only tried eco mode once and never tried it again. Seems like an afterthought by Lexus.
