Default Lane change blink setting...how to change?

Hello everyone,

If i missed a thread on this and re-posting I am sorry.

I just got a 2016 RX 350 last week and I cant for the life of me figure out how to change the blinker from 3-7 or 9 blinks. This is my 5th RX so I knew how to do it on the other ones but this one doesnt have a user option to do it. Says in the PDF files I have read that it is a dealer only option. There must be a way to do it. I have watched the videos and read the instruction on how to do it with the washer stick and turning the car on and holding....etc. But it doesnt seem to work.

Anyone have any luck on this???

Thanks in advance
Eric

probably easier just to take it to the dealer. are you trying to increase the blinks?

yenside, changing settings is part of your first free service. I'm not sure why they want to charge you for it even if it's a while away. Do a search for threads discussing the Carista app. I have already changed a few of those 'dealer only' settings myself. Minimal cost and virtually takes no time. Someone did change the blinker settings on their 3RX. You can check there too.

I was told by my dealer that I can have service change mine from 3 to 7 blinks by requesting it at the 1st complimentary service. I am assuming that it would be part of the complimentary thing.

I believe you also need an OBD2 adapter. The official Carista one is supposedly quite good: https://www.amazon.com/Carista-Bluet...ywords=carista

Most of the negative reviews are from people who either didn't know their vehicle wasn't supported, or didn't realize you had to also buy the $20 pro app in addition to the hardware. So $40 for the adapter and $20 for the app will allow you to change anything you want that the dealer would want to charge you for himself.

I have this scanner (thanks to TexasRxh for the recommendation) and downloaded the Carista app from iTunes. It will give you a list of programmable settings with one or two free. You have to download the $19.99 version to get the full list. My cost was less than $40.

I believe you must have some basic model of some sort.

I have seen regular RX's with just the outside on.

Mine has the triple beam LED's and it lights up all the way.
