Default Problem with Lexus Enform Connection

Contacted Lexus, our smartphones will no longer connect with the 2016 RX . I was told to 'restart' the app, which I did, then drive the vehicle for a time, make sure the vehicle was in an area the could receive cel phone (that's where I called them from). After several days I was told this is a MAJOR problem with many customers and growing. Anyone else having this problem?

Default Lexus Enform Remote

It is happening all across the country. We are getting errors that say something to the effect of "Unable to Process THS157, One or more of the following conditions are not satisfied (open hood/door/ trunk are the most common cause). Apparently they know about the errors and are working to resolve the issue as we speak.

I don't know why you even bother with Lexus Enform? It is a pretty useless feature. They charge a ridiculous amount of money for it. The only useful feature is finding where you parked last, and being able to roll up your windows. Everything else you can simply use your smart phone for.

It isn't like you can delete it when you buy the vehicle since it comes with a year of service.

Now after the year is up, it is all up to you.

I had the same problem a few days ago and was told to delete the app and then reinstall the app. I did and all went back to working properly with no problems since then.

I like it. It has reminded me several times that I left a door unlocked or a window open. Just being able to know that the car is locked and secure is worth it for me. The vehicle location is just icing on the cake. I will renew at the end of the year for sure.

Can't you also remote start with it?

Yup. Also lock/unlock doors, fuel level, doors status, and set driver profiles that give alerts when parameters are exceeded.

They should have dealers and their technology specialists activate the service for customers when they pickup their cars.

This is what I don't like about Lexus Enform:

Lexus found a way to charge money for features that should work on their own and for free. There is no reason you should not be able to find your parked car, rollup windows, check your gas level, and so on.

Safety connect is the only feature that should cost money. I know when you buy a new car they give you a year subscription for free. I refuse to even activate the free subscription.

Car Play makes Enform look clunky and old fashioned. Lexus won't embrace it because they probably can't figure out a way to charge you for things that should be free anyways.

Agreed.
They should just bake the "costs" into the car like everyone else who is offering it for "free". (ie add on option)

I've had issues too with Lexus Enform remote start. This morning I tried remote starting and got the " Unable To Process (THS157)" message. I then remotely locked the doors and tried remotely starting and it worked fine. However, I've had it fail repeatedly other times with doors already locked.

I've also set up an alert if the hazards are on. I turn on the hazards and did not receive an alert.

It was mentioned earlier in this discussion you would like to know if the car is broken in to. Is this system supposed to act as an alarm system somehow? Without a glass breakage sensor, how the car "know" it's being broken into? If the doors are forced open the alarm would sound. Does the alarm trigger an alert? It's not in the list of possible alerts.

If you set up an alert on door open, does it text you EVERY time the door is opened? How do you tell the difference between normal opening and breakin opening?

And of the other remote starts I've owned this is the slowest and the first thing they all did when you perform a remote start, they locked the doors before starting the car. Why can't Lexus figure out to lock the doors. It adds time to the process that extra step when you must lock them. My guess Lawyers....Lexus lawyers want you to be responsible for not locking someone in the car.

Seemed like we were notified on our smartphones whenever a door was left open or doors were left unlocked. Still no call from Lexus. I'm getting discouraged.

I have not had a single problem with Enform and love it. First year is free and you can choose after that. For the little it costs I will re-up when the time comes. It has been of value to me.

Sounds like this problem is not universal, maybe regional.

We had issues earlier this month. My Wife, who is the primary driver of the RX, was told the same thing most have said...to re-install the app. However, just logging out and logging back in completely resolved the issue for her.
