Mudguards for RX

question for you guys...
with regards to the front spring clips. are you clipping them between the metal body panel and liner? what happens to the long plastic spacer? it sits on top of the spring clip?
I've already completed the rears and it doesn't seem like the rear spring clips are "clipped" onto the metal body panel. instead it seems to be used as a washer of some sort.

Put them on AFTER installing running boards. I just skipped the 5th fastener that's blocked by the running board. There's no way these are going anywhere even with only 4 of the 5 screws holding them on.

That is correct. It is recommended to install the mud guards first before the running boards. But in my case, the running boards were already installed by the dealer and then had to install the mud flaps later. As explained, it can still be done without dismounting the running boards but you will need to modify the installation a little bit as explained.
As for the spacer. it installs between the metal fender and the plastic flare. The purpose is to make up for the space that the old plastic push pins were taking before thus keeping the flare square to the fender.

I received the factory mudguards and I'm a bit surprised. I feel they are bit chintzy in execution. Instead of a flat surface on the receiving side of matters, they are cupped/recessed and a dirt magnet/debris magnet. I am certainly glad I didn’t pay retail for these as they are not worth what I paid, let alone retail. To me, these are not worth more $60 retail for all of them.
I'm getting ready to install them and for more hole accurately I'll be using a self-centering drill bit to drill the holes (bits used when installing door hinges to properly align the holes) when using the flap holes as a guide. I have to contend with the factory installed running boards on the front flaps, so thanks to Jiggz858's for post his #48 above.

Is that strictly installation or does that price include the OEM mudguards as well? I suspect it is for both. Not a bad or great price if you don't want to install them yourself. These mudguards are money makers for Lexus and Lexus dealerships. I purchased the OEM mudguards for less than $100 and installed them myself taking off all four wheels to make it easier.

There may be some aftermarket mudguards out there, but I think the OEMs look great. I purchased OEM mudguards from an Arizona dealer on Amazon. They don’t come with detailed instructions (not dealer’s fault, it’s Toyota’s product) & the installation appeared complicated & I certainly didn’t want to tear anything up guessing. I had a dealer install them for $99, money well spent for a perfect install. They REALLY help keep road mud & debris off the sides of your RX. If you don’t have them, get them! Your vehicle will stay cleaner, longer.

Mud Flaps for 2018 RX 350
Does any one have a recommendation, where to get mud flaps for our new 18 RX 350 ? Stealer prices & labor scare me. Are OEMs necessary or has anyone had luck with good aftermarket non-OEM. Any assistance appreciated.

i would go with OEM if you can. there are various places to buy them online. Super easy to install too.

2018 RX 350L / Mud Guards/Flaps
Purchased a 2018 RX 350L. Trying to decide whether to have Lexus factory installed mud guards/flaps added. Are the mud guards recommended for the RX 350? Do they enhance or take away from the appearance? Certainly will not be doing any “off roading”. What do most people do? Thanks.
