Default Door lock behavior question

Recently, when i approach the drivers door with the key fob in my pocket, the doors will unlock automatically. It never did this before and i tried going thru the settings to turn this function off, but i didn't see it listed in the Vehicle Customizations menu. Does this happen to anyone else?

You door unlocks without you touching it? If so, that is not supposed to happen and there is no setting to stop it.

Your door should only unlock if you have the FOB on your person and you touch the door handle, not until.

interesting, was this customized by dealership on the first courtesy service? If not, I`d guess the temperature sensor on the door is screwy, either needs needs to be recalibrated or needs replacement

What temperature sensor?

Do you think the door feels your temp when you touch the door handle?

Door was recently removed by a body shop to fix some dings on it. Wondering if something wasn't plugged in right or they broke the sensor because i can't lock/unlock the car using the drivers door handle. All other door handles work alright though...

I would bet the body shop messed up and did not put something back together correctly. If it was not the Lexus body shop, you might have trouble getting this fixed without paying.

Sorry.

While I agree that you should not have to pay, it is going to be your word against the body shop's word. Worst, the body shop may not even know how to fix the problem.

Yea it does lol :P

In my ole camry, the smartkey would only function at specific temperatures. So when it got cold, i would get no response. Took it to the dealer, and the SA told me "Thats how it suppose to work since its a temperature sensor". Total bs, but somehow he replicated it with 3 other new on the lot (freezing outside) lot. Since then i refer to the capactive sensors on the remote keyless systems as temp sensors since then

Not true but you get the point

Get the body shop involved, If its reputable they wont pushback much.

Most body shops (if not all) have a warranty on their work. No reason why a reputable shop wouldn't try to fix it for you.

Pretty much interesting to listen this , but this doesn't happened to any car as far as i know. So considering this thing in mind have you consulted this problem with the dealer because of this surprising problem.I have seen many door locks problems with my ford and i have tried fixing it from the dealer , locksmith and even sometimes by myself also. But this seems to be the different one.
