Except they didn't change it very much - they've just changed the shape very slightly over the past few years.

Lexus seems to have a new grill every time they refresh the car. Look at the GS, its getting a shiny new BIG grill and so is the RX.

Audi just got left behind with their grill lol

I think big grill is here to stay. You dont see Audi shrinking there grills since its debut 10+ years ago. I think the Porsche SUVs are very nice but not so sure about reliability. I have a brother that owned two Porsche Panorama one Turbo and one 4S and they were both reliable but he only drives to 50,000 miles before he trades so maby not so much.

Yes, Audi started the most recent trend to big bold grills and it was controversial initially. Now most automakers are doing it and as usual some do it better than others.

Been always an rx fan and will probably get it when ours gets old. The grille doesn't seem to bother me but I feel there's a bit too much chrome going on and the part around the fogs is not my thing. Overall though I think it's an huge improvement from 2015.

My only concern is the amount of time it will take to de-bug after a road trip, lot of area that just a wipe will not handle it. I realize many Lexus owners don't get their hands dirty with chores but many of us do as we don't trust car washes or oil change places.

I am well past 35 and love the new grill on the RX. I do think the RX F Sport grill is a little over the top but goes well with the rest of the radical bodywork and look good.

I live in Florida and learned long ago when taking a road trip with the love bugs to squirt the front of the vehicle down with armor-all. Bugs do not stick and it all washes all off.

If you noticed, almost every manufacturer has some really big front bumper/grill the past few years. I think it might have to do with updated front crash standards

[QUOTE=blairh;9255832]I think the age thing is correct. It will appeal more to younger people. I'm 34 and I don't like it one bit. But I could see people my age liking it more.

The analog clock should really go though. /QUOTE]

Agreed. I am 54 and don't like it. Seems clear to me they are courting a younger demographic. I like the rest of the car, and the interior is nice - though the overall interior improvement doesn't seem that dramatic now that I have seen one in person. I just dislike the grill but it follows the new corporate design. They seem to be copying Audi with the super-sized grills.

I also agree about the clock. It looks nice but you have to study it to see what time it is on our ES and it doesn't adjust for daylight savings time as easily. I prefer the clock on our 3rd gen RX over the analog clock on the ES.
