4RX Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)
Hill Start Assist will hold your brake for several seconds when the car detects it is on a slope. Auto Hold, just as you said, will hold the brake for you till you step on the gas pedal. Most of the car models I checked in recent years have the Hill Start Assist feature. But not all of them have Auto Hold.
I was wondering why the car has the "Brake Hold" and still has Hill Start Assist function until I read somewhere in the manual that Brake Hold may not be able to stop/hold the car on a steep incline. From a mechanical point of view, I can see how that could be the case, but some driver may get a surprise using the Brake Hold feature on a steep incline.

Thanks.
My understanding is hill start assist is automatic. You stop on a hill and it is automatically engaged. I do not have to do anything special on my 2017 RX and 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander.
hmmm... this may be it.. ill have to look into this - she normally has her keys in her bookbag... and i have mine in my pocket. and i always seem to be ready to go before she has even finished unbuckling her seatbelt.
ill have to test it so that only one set of keys are near the car. I never even thought about that.
i never looked at the guage cluster to see - i normally open the door and pop right out of the car.
for the person that asked - The BEEPING i have experienced is always/only when the car is completely turned off.
Thank you
Coming from an 3RX, I was initial not happy to see the "new" 4RX Navi screen design. I thought the 3RX design was better integrated as part of the dash board, and the 4RX's screen looked as if it was an after thought. I bought the 4RX anyway for other reasons, but now, after owning the SUV for a couple months, I am having second thought on my initial assessment. The 4RX navi screen design makes the RX appears a lot wider inside across the dash board area in front of the driver (the 4RX is only about 1 inch wider than the 3RX). From the driver position and looking to the far right corner of the wind shield, I thought I was in a much bigger car than my 3RX (don't know if the 12.3" screen adds to that effect or not). Now I get what the designer was going after, and I actually like the roomy appearance. Since I used to dislike the design so much, I just want to point out what was probably obvious to many other owners from day 1.
Is this correct for 2016 model year as well? My Canadian 2016 doesn't do it.
You'll need to check to determine whether your garage opener has this feature. If it does, then it will make use of your RX's mirror Homelink mirror arrows.
That is correct although you can just step on the gas a little bit to get it started moving forward and the DCC will go back in action from the last setting. Albeit, it would pick up very slowly until it reached prior set speed. So what I do is step on the gas to get it going a little faster and then let go.
From the Owners Manual: "2-way communication is only available if the garage door opener motor used is a compatible device. (To check device compatibility, refer to www.Home- Link.com.)"

Drove Montreal-Boston and back this weekend and discovered by mistake:
Luxury model non F-Sport, the middle TFT screen when put in the navigation menu where it shows the compass when I was using the navigation, another pane is made available by clicking on the down arrow.
This pane shows the current street/road, distance to the next exit/turn (decreases in real time), direction of the turn/exit (that is also shown on the top right of the large screen) and which next street/road to take.
Having the exit number (sometimes having number followed by A-B-C) is useful since it is not always obvious which one. I liked to keep it on the screen since it prepared me better to execute the turn than being notified sometimes 5 seconds before and miss it.
