The gas door on my 17 450h has a weird "loop" inside the door. Not sure what it's for and I can't seem to find anywhere where the gas cap would be
held. My '06 RX400h had a half moon crevice that would hold the gas cap so it wouldn't dangle and hit the car while I'm filling up but I can't seem to figure out if there's
a way to hold the cap inside the gas door on my 17?
Yup, there should be a small circle near the hinge. You set your gas cap face down into that circle.

The gas cap sits down on top of the circular “loop” (threads down, handle pointing up).
Yep, that's where it goes, but I don't like it. Dirt can buildup in that plastic crown and when I fuel at Costco there are no paper towels to wipe around the gas cap's leading edge so I don't use the crown holder. I just ordered, as I always do, Griot's Garage FuelGuard (I've had these on all my vehicles for as long Griot's has been selling this item) accessory and let her hang.
I didn't know this was possible until I read about it in a different thread but I just had the dealer change the settings for my key fob. I can now open the windows and moon roof. I also had them change the side view mirrors to fold/unfold with the engine instead of the door lock. And the quick turn signal now blinks 5 times instead of 3. There's a lot more things you can customize but these were the only ones I wanted.
Sorry if this was brought up already. I just noticed over the weekend that there’s a clear layer over the bumper. Does anyone know what type this is? In any case it’s nice that Lexus does this.
