Yep, for some reason, Lexus puts in a substantially better cam in the vehicles with PVM. Sorry man.
That's very interesting Bearcat. I didn't know that. I had fully intended to get the PVM even before your mention. For me, the PVM is a "killer app". Can't imagine anyone who does lots of parking not wanting this option.
Strange. I test drove a model without the PVM and the backup camera was way better than my 15RX.
Any backup cam is better than the 15RX. The backup cam on previous gen RX was like two generations outdated. My 2006 LS 430 had the same quality camera as the 15RX so of course the 16RX without PVM looked better. If you think the 16RX without PVM had great backup then go test drive one that HAS PVM and then you will see that it is big difference!
One HUGE improvement that I've noticed...ok maybe not huge...but "yuuuuge" is the buzzword these days...is the improved garage opener...they call it "Homelink" but c'mon...it's a garage opener. Prior Lexi that I've owned had this but you had to hold the button for a long time until the signal was caught by the door receiver. With the 4RX, you can just quickly press the button and let go and the signal continues to send for a few seconds...long enough to "get caught" by the receiver. Seems trivial but it's a big improvement.

I agree. The button on the bottom is easier to hit without looking. Very big improvement.
I think the range is improved also.
I can be a block away and open my door now.
Wasn't like that with the 2014 ES I used to own.
I noticed increased range too. One of my three garage doors would only open if right in front of it now it will work when I first pull onto the driveway.
This might be known to some folks, I just figured this out..
-- If you want to turn-off only the engine and not the media/radio, switch transmission to Neutral and then press the ignition once to turn-off ignition, then switch transmission to Park. Helps when you are at the gas station, or waiting to pick someone up.
If someone knows how to start the engine w/o interrupting the radio/media that would be useful
I just found the coin box and button to open the coin box. I feel like it's my "secret compartment" because it's hard to see if you don't know it's there.
Coin box? Are you referring to the "tissue holder" on the far right under the vent? LOL A kleenex packet fits in there perfectly!
Then there's the "hidden" cell phone holder under the palm rest. I can't imagine which phone would actually fit in there. The wife saw it and said, "Oh good. Now I can keep my lip balm and eye drops in there." Sigh.

Your comment about your wife's reaction is funny! Still laughing.
