Squeaky noise when braking
2017 Lexus RX 350
I can hear a loud squeaky noise when braking hard at low speeds in a parking lot (see attached recording).
Does anyone know what might be causing it?

Probably because they were never seated (bedded) properly. Get on a highway or road where you can go 50 - 60 MPH and there is not much traffic. Get up to speed step on the brake pedal fairly hard until you get down to about 20 MPH. Repeat 6 - 8 times. Then drive a few miles to let let the brakes cool off then go home and let the car sit for a while. That should fix the problem

Hmmm...I didn't know this was a thing. Curious if the pads and rotors are OEM. Just did our daughter's 2015 all OEM pads and rotors and never made a peep since install.
Also, if all OEM, did they replace the shims? Whether they did or not, curious if they greased the key areas of the calipers that contact the shims, as well as the shim to pad contact area. Another question is if they put the "squealer" tab on correctly as well as the metal fittings that go into the brackets where the pads sit...they only install one way.
Ugh....sorry....I just don't trust mechanics, so I learned to do all this myself and meanwhile, since I learned how to do it, I have been able to find things that, under warranty, had to be fixed with brakes by our dealer (this was on our 2019 CPO purchase recently which has another 8 months of warranty left).

A little unrelated question: does anyone know why after replacing brake pads and rotors I feel like car accelerates a bit slower.
Could it be because or bedding issue?
Also after driving I can feel wheels are a bit warm but not super hot if it matters.

Unless you do the job yourself, it is really hard to know what is actually going on...unless you have a mechanic tell you the condition of everything at the wheel.
Need to check for seizing caliper, or slide pins binding (not slipping like they should). Lexus brakes actually have antibinding springs / clips to keep the pads from binding onto the rotors after activation (braking). If everything is installed properly, when you remove the lower caliper bolt and move the caliper up to get it away from the pads, the pads should want to move away from the rotor due to these clips as well as the bracket clips installed at the top and bottom of the pads in the brackets.

Ok great....I have a sense that they didn't put OEM pads on. I have watched a lot of videos about brake work (and done my own) and unless I missed it (and I could have), I have never heard of "seating" brakes, especially on a Lexus.
ya i did it myself. the rear i have to manually remove the bolts there's no space for a stubby impact gun and I have to use a wrench to hold it to remove the 14mm bolt.
When you did the rear, does yours have the auto parking brake? If so, how did you deal with that? I hear you need a special tool to "unscrew" it to push the piston back in to make room for new pads.
