Default 2020 RX 350 android auto issues

Updated to the new Samsung S25 Ultra phone and I'm noticing that when it is wired it's working fine with Android Auto on the car, but the phone will go black. I'm not able to wake it up until unplugging the phone. Anyone else experiencing this?

I don't recall that behavior when I used a wired connection with my Google Pixel 7 Pro. It certainly does not happen with a wireless connection using the AAWireless dongle. It sounds like it could be an enforced safety rule. Maybe not, though.

There is a "Start Android Auto while locked" setting in Android Auto. You might try toggling that and see if it changes behavior.

It's toggled on now and I use extended unlock on the phone since it's in a known area. I ordered a AA wireless dongle today to see if that helps. It didn't do this with my S21 Ultra.

I have the S25 base model that I use with my '22. I hadn't seen what you are seeing with a wired connection but I think it could be a setting also.

Buying a AAWireless dongle was a great idea! I recently picked up their model 2 version. It works great with my phone and '22.

Let us know how it works for you.

Let us know if the AAwireless dongle solves the problem. One of the good things about the dongle is that it lets you configure the screen resolution. Doing so allows some features on some apps to appear that otherwise would not. The incident reporting feature on Google Maps via AA is a good example. It would not appear on my RX screen until I changed the resolution (to 145 or 150 as I recall). I need to play with it some more and see if I can get the speedometer to appear.

Well the wireless dongle seems to have fixed the locking me out issue and love not having the wire! I am still surprised Lexus is even bothering with it.

Where is this feature?

Open the AAWireless app on your phone when in your vehicle with the AAWireless dongle powered on. Tap the gear icon on the top left to go to Settings, then tap Advanced Settings. Change DPI is the 4th item in the list. I have mine set to 145 currently, and that allows the Google Maps incident reporting feature to appear when driving.

Thanks for letting us know the AAWireless dongle fixed your black screen problem.

I went with a different brand so this probably won't work for me unfortunately.

What size display do you have? I have the 12.3" in my '22.

I might be the only one who likes and uses Waze but I decided to try adjusting the resolution in AA2 to see if I could get the alerts icon in Google Maps to show up.

It wasn't until I got to 140 did it show up but at that point all the icons were tiny and the screen was hard to read.

With Waze, everything is shown and readable at the default display resolution.

My RX has the 12.3" display. I've tried Waze multiple times over the last several years. The pastel, cartoon interface is lousy and I've always gone back to Maps. I have no issue reading the screen with DPI set to 145.
