Help, please! I have a 2022 RX350 w/nav system. My subscriptions recently expired and so I signed up for Destination assist which should have allowed me to perform 2 important tasks and the only reason I re-subscribed. 1) Speak directions into the search field and 2) speak to return a text message - handsfree. These two things worked immediately after subscription activation and then stopped working. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Lexus Connect (they were very helpful and had seen this problem earlier in the day) but alas were not able to resolve the issue. We did everything possible from settings on my iphone 15 to completely restarting my entire Lexus system. Still not working. When I try to speak directions (I can still type them in), I get a voice command back saying something went wrong and then a pop up on my screen (attached) that says 'the speech to text service cannot process your request right now. Please try again later.' Also, now when a text comes in, I'm able to hear it but not see it on the screen and when I try to Voice reply, I get these same messages and then the Quick reply screen comes up for manual reply. The gal at Lexus Enform thinks it may now be a firmware update issue and there may be a charge for this ($170). Car is only 3 years old. Anyone see this and if so can you offer any help? Thank you, Lexus drivers, for any help you can offer! Message when trying to use VOICE command to either get directions via voice and/or responding to a text.

I do not have an answer to your specific question. That experience would be aggravating. Have you tried or considered using CarPlay instead of the embedded Lexus function? If you've tried it, does it work? If you haven't tried it, I think the process of interacting with CarPlay is very similar to the embedded function, except you do a long press of the phone button instead of a short press. (I use Android Auto in my RX, so am not intimately familiar with CarPlay. I'm somewhat confident the process is the same for both services, though.)
Once I got a wireless AA dongle, I completely went away from the embedded Lexus function. It is better in every way and I suspect CarPlay would offer a similar experience.
BTW, you have two identical posts on this topic. Perhaps the mods can remove one.
I am having this same issue with our 23 GX. It just started out of the blue yesterday. Any update on your end?
Here is what I posted but have not received any help yet. Just recently the voice to text function on our 23 GX stopped working and we’re getting this error. It does work when connect via usb and using Apple Car Play. All other voice functions such as changing the radio and making calls are working. Only the speech to text gives us an error. I’ve also disconnected the battery for approximately 10 minutes but that didn’t help either. Checked for updates on the infotainment and it say’s it’s up to date. Turned off the iPhone and back on as well as tried another iPhone but nothing works. This just started today. All subsriptions are up to date. Does anyone know the fix or having the same issue?
I have a 2019 Lexus ES350 and am getting the exact same issue. It started happening on the 6 year anniversary of purchasing the car, which makes me suspicious that Lexus has programmed some sort of time bomb to get users to pay for a firmware upgrade. Were you able to get the issue resolved? Also interested in knowing how many others are having the same issue. Thank you.
No update here. I did purchase a new iPhone 16E yesterday (to replace an older model), and that didn't fix anything. In fact, I just noticed that I can no longer initiate a phone call using the voice control. If I cannot get these issues resolved real soon, then I am going to get rid of this car because I use these items a lot and would rather not have to plug in a cable to sue CarPlay

Please keep us posted. How recent did your issue start? Have you talked to Lexus yet?
Also happening with my 2020 RX350; first noticed on 3/1/25.
Seems like this is happening on many different years and models, and the problem seems to be occurring more recently. Seems like someone from LEXUS could take the ball and run with it to find a solution. Anyone out there???
