Default Windshield Washer Nozzles

2017 RX350 F-Sport here. I purchased the car with low miles, and it came from Florida. This week, we have had significant winter weather with temps around 20 degrees. Yesterday when driving to work, the windshield washer fluid was only spraying on the driver side. When I got to work, I scraped some ice off the passenger nozzle, car sat most of the day outside, and both worked on my way home. This morning, both nozzles clogged on my way to work. When I got to work, they were frozen, and I couldn’t scrape any of the ice away as it was just inside the nozzle. Temperature was again around 20 degrees.

Is this a common issue for this gen RX in colder climates? Or, is the windshield washer fluid the problem? I don’t want to take it in to drain/replace fluid if this is a common problem on this model. My 09 ES never had this issue.

In my 25 years of owning a RX (or any other car) I've never had a problem by using commercial washer fluid. I think some persons in the warmer southern states use only tap water when freezing is not a problem. But minerals in the water can eventually clog the nozzles. I'd empty the reservoir and put in commercial fluid (I like Rain-X or Prestone).

Same here. I purchased two jugs of Rain-X -25 degree all season washer fluid. I parked in the garage this evening, let the nozzles thaw, pulled out, and ran the tank empty. I refilled the tank with the Rain-X, so we'll see what happens. I drove around for a while after I refilled, and the spray from the old fluid crystalized a little and froze on the car's roof and side windows. It was definitely the wrong fluid blend it seems.

You had summer fluid in there. I don't like Rain-X washer fluid the orange stuff too much detergent it smears in cold weather.
