Cruise control radar/clean sensor error after replacing front emblem
Hello, I recently replaced my front emblem myself, I did not unplug the cc radar and placed everything back exactly as it was, however it gives me the clean sensor error when I try to use cc. Any ideas on how to fix this without having to pay a ton at the dealership.
Thanks

Sorry, but you have become a victim of misinformation : Cheap knockoffs are available everywhere, but WILL NOT WORK on cars with Adaptive Cruise Control (radar) !!! The one you MUST use is the OEM part (around TEN TIMES the cost), or you will discover the radar is attenuated by the cheap emblem, ans WILL NOT WORK. I spent days proving this was the case, and ended up polishing up my old one, rather than paying $250 for an OEM replacement.

Mine is a 2017 RX350 Luxury, and the front emblem clouded over something fierce after five years. My car is perfect otherwise, so I inquired at the dealership and got quoted $1200 total cost for replacement/calibration. Yikes!!! So I ordered the emblem myself, PN XXXXX-48100 for the radar compatible/PreCrash System/etc. model. Super easy installation after removing the upper trim piece under the hood. Looks so great, but then on the road, I kept getting the PCS warning triangle. Stopped by the dealership and spoke with the sec mgr. I'll need to get it properly calibrated. Honestly wish I would have just coughed up the dough and gotten it done at the dealership the first time. Dang I love this car though!

The mounting points as we all know are "hard points". No wiggle, so after being super careful during the emblem process, I was sure I had this project whipped. Yeah, right. I used the cruise yesterday for about 15 minutes of backroads driving, with very few vehicles around, then the warning triangle popped on. First time I've tried in well over a week since I hate dash warning lights. Only way to get it to turn off is to stop and restart the car, even after turning that feature off on the dash. Just the thought of immediate anti-collision braking with no warning is frightening enough. Came home and spent time reading about ADAS calibration. There are indeed several places here in the Tucson area that will do the calibration. Still not cheap. I'll get something done this week hopefully.

By doing this, which I did this morning, do I lose the pre-collision safety features? IOW, should I still get the system recalibrated so I have all the safety features this car was designed with? I've been trying to contact my local dealer, but they haven't returned my phone calls in over 3 weeks.

I made an appointment for next Tuesday, drop off at 7am with a loaner, at the other dealership across town. I'll repost with my final cost. They were able to pull up all my service records/history and were super cordial on the phone.

I had the same problem. When I bought the car the car has original emblem. Unfortunately ACC doesn't work. I was checked correctly emblem on lexus web .( Price was ridiculous 940£) I found correctly used emblem on eBay (300£) . First, remove existing emblem from your car and make a drive test if everything works fine, definitely you need replacing the emblem. 👍
