I have a 2010 RX350 How can I tell what kind of bulb I have low beam it throws out white color, When I look up to get the bulb I keep on seeing halogen bulbs?

Call a Lexus dealership parts department, provide your VIN, and ask for the appropriate replacement bulb and part number.

I can't say for sure that you are wrong, but the J stands for Made in Japan. All others are made in Canada. I doubt if it has anything to do with the headlights. Someone might know for sure.

Not sure myself that is what a Lexus dealer told me today at the parts department. I just know I have HID bulb, in a way I was hoping for Halogen much cheaper?

@Cashflow1

I can confirm the first letter of the VIN does not determine headlight type.
I have two pics below that will help you determine which low beam setup you have.

1. Halogen low beam

2. HID low beam

This is the OEM bulb. This is exactly what comes in the car from the factory. $55.00 each is not cheap,but these will last a lot longer than the halogen.

If you join the Lexus Drivers Site through this link and enter your VIN you can find the build sheet for your car and see what headlights it came with from the factory.

You can also look up the dealer service history.

Do you think that LED would be better to change over from HID? Also fog lights what about a yellow LED that color is supposed to be very good for fog.

NO. The headlight housing is not designed to work with the shape and light distribution pattern of LED bulbs. They will be worse than your old HID bulbs.
The thing is your old HID bulbs have faded and become dimmer over the years so that you barely notice the change until one day you notice you cannot see well anymore.

Just installing new HID bulbs will result in a much brighter longer range view down the road. You will be amazed at the difference between old and new HID bulbs.

The fog lights do so little it is not worth the aggravation to change the bulbs over to a yellow tinted bulb. The yellow does not make much dfference. Plus getting at the fog light bulbs is a pain in the a$$.

Wow thank you for the information, is there a place online I can buy HID bulbs that are good quality, I do not know much about the HID bulbs but I heard they vary depending on how they are made.

I'm getting a bit tired of debunking this. Many LED bulbs are now properly designed where the light source matches the original bulb and work perfectly in a projector or reflector housing. See for yourself.
