Default Use RAV 4 OEM parts for RX

Would you guys know if I could use Toyota RAV 4 OEM parts for Lexus RX 2011? OEM Parts for Lexus are expensive. Would there be a way to confirm the fit? I called Toyota, but the guy would not want to verify if it fits. When I buy parts from RockAuto, many say for both Rav 4 and RX. What is your experience?

When you say "it" what are you referring to? Toyota and Lexus share some parts between models/years depends on the part.

Our cars share a lot more parts with a 2014-2019 Highlander than a RAV4. I'm interested in what parts you're looking at

As previously mentioned, the Toyota Highlander is the twin you should be referencing when looking to save money on parts.

Get the water pump from Toyota for a 2008-2015 Highlander with the 3.5 engine. No suspension parts from a RAV4 will fit our cars, they're on the wrong platform. 2008-2013 Highlander shares the front suspension from our cars, 2014-2023 Highlander for the rear suspension. I have Bilstein B6 on mine 2010-2013 Highlander fronts, 2014-2019 Highlander rears. Perfect fit and much better than what Toyota / Lexus has to offer in a strut or shock assembly. 2008-2009 Highlander front struts are not compatible with the newer driver's side front spring due to the spring perch being reversed on that side for 2010+ facelift models.

The water pump is the one that works on the 2GR-FE engine which is used by Toyota and Lexus in a lot of vehicles. For instance the RX350, ES350, Highlander and Sienna all use this engine. The water pump failed in my Sienna last Summer and it has the same 2GR-FE engine. I did not want to deal with trying to work in that tight space and had a used a local independent shop that installed a NAPA replacement water pump and said it had a better warranty than the Toyota one. It was 5 hours labor. They have to loosen some motor mounts to move the engine a bit to get at all the bolts and remove & replace the water pump.

The RX shares the front suspension (mostly) with the 2008-2013 Highlander.
The RX shares the rear suspension (mostly) with the 2014-2018 Highlander.

Some Online seller such as Rock Auto provide a cross reference for most parts that shows all the vehicles the part fits. There is box to click on each parts listing that has the info.
