Default Seat Extension

Hello everyone,

I just bought a used RX350 Base model and to my dismay the driver seat does not go back as much as I have tried in other iterations of the 2013 models (the sport for example). I'm 6'4" with size 16 feet and would love to have my knees a little bit more extended. How can I modify the seat tracks and is there any commercial products that are specifically designed for this generation. This Rx only had 85k miles on it so I plan to drive it for some time. Thank you very much. I live in Pennsylvania.

Welcome to CL. I am pretty sure the seat adjustment range is exactly the same on all models of the 2013 RX350. The only 2 versions are Base and F-Sport.
F-Sport does have different seats but it is the upholstery that changes, a few suspension tweaks and more cosmetic changes. Maybe the different F-Sport seats fit you better or you had the seat adjusted differently in the F-Sport so it fit you differently.

You cannot make the changes you seek without spending a small fortune and possibly damaging the structural integrity of the vehicle. If it could be done. The wiring probably does not stretch enough to allow greater seat range modification, nor would the seat belt work. Again, to change those would cost even more money and your resale value would go down the toilet.
Maybe you should return the vehicle and get something larger that fits your body.

There are no aftermarket products to extend the seat tracks. There are few if any aftermarket products at all for the RX. It is not a vehicle that anyone modifies.

Thank you Clutchless, I space is not awfully tight but once that thick winter coat is on it'll shave up another inch of it. Will look at all my options in the next few days.

I'm 6'5" and wear 14s and I fit pretty good in my 2014 f-sport. Some extra room wouldn't hurt but just have to deal with it. If you want to move the seats back it would take some cutting and welding of the seat frame or even making some brackets to move the seat back. I've also toyed with the idea of installing 2016+ f-sport seats into mine.

I am 6-foot-7 with size 15 feet. I can stay only tolerably comfortable driving my wife's 2015 RX350 for no more than 30 minutes before my knees and lower back start yelling at me. The best seat position for me is pushed all the way back and tilted all the way back as well. I rarely drive this vehicle - sure glad it is hers and not mine.
