This sounds dumb because it should be dead simple but I've tried a couple of times and so far no luck.
This is for the tail light in the body (on the passenger side). The problem is that the wires leading to the bulb are encased in a plastic tube. That tube prevents being able to turn the wires around to be able to access the bulb. There must be a trick to this but I haven't figured it out.
The video didn't really help. It shows him being able to twist the assembly around in order to get the bulb out. That's what I haven't been able to do.
I’ve had luck with curved snap ring pliers with a black rubbery coating. They’re delicate like fingers and easy to get in position, don’t clamp hard enough to damage the socket, and the grippy outer coating doesn’t damage the socket and helps keep the tool on.
If by the tail light on the body, you mean the outer - that is an LED assembly and the brake bulbs are not replaceable unless you want to open up the light and do some soldering. For the inners they are just size 168 bulbs are should twist out relatively easily, especially with the snap ring pliers.
