Chrome trim piece loose
Hello Lexus Forum Goers,

The chrome piece in the picture [Passenger side, front door, chrome piece located on the bottom of said door] on my 2014 Lexus RX 350, has been not-flush with the door since I pushed the vehicle used 20,000 miles ago. I recently took my vehicle to Northside Lexus in Houston for my last in-warranty oil change, and requested they make this flush against the door like it is supposed to be. Upon receiving the vehicle back it still is not flush. Can I remove this piece, take off the rubber adhesive strip, and use 3M car emblem glue to put it back to looking correct? Or how would I go about properly adhering this to the vehicle?
Thanks!

Update for everyone:
I am going to fix this myself, no idea why Lexus told me they fixed it and they didn't. I moved removed a little more of the chrome trim, and use acetone carefully on the rubber adhesive strip and chrome back to get rid of residual and hardened glue. Today I will take some Q-tips, layer some 3M car emblem glue across the back of the chrome piece, and use clamps to secure it in place for 30 minutes [the glue takes 15 minutes to set, 24 hours to cure]. Will update accordingly.

Update!
Hey everyone: This project is completed [it appears!]
To start off: Northside Lexus in Houston was a HUGE disappointment. Not only did they claim to fix this issue [granted at no cost]. It is clear that they removed the original adhesive rubber strip, and misaligned the new adhesive rubber strip [which doesn't even run the full length of the chrome trim...]. The chrome piece was loose and flapping in the wind as soon as I drove away from the dealership. So I decided to fix it myself.
Tools: 2x Deep throat clamps, 1x regular clamp, 3M emblem glue and adhesive, multiple Q-tips, rags [to clean any excess adhesive that pushed out while clamped down].
Final results: https://imgur.com/a/PDl03ci
As you can see in the image, the chrome piece is now secure back to the vehicle. I did not adhere it to the paint, but rather I cleaned the portion of the strip that could not hold the chrome down with Acetone [VERY careful not to scrub the paint with this]. I used Q-tips to apply a layer of glue across the strip, then across the back of the chrome, I clamped down the trim on 3 spots tightly for 30 minutes [3m adhesive takes 15 minutes to set, 24 hours to cure]. AN hour later it is still in the correct position, so I anticipate it will cure nicely within 24 hours! Overall this took very little work, and the cost was minimal as I already owned all of the products used.
