Default Headlight conversion?

First time poster...

I am wondering if I have any options to covert to LED headlights to get something a little brigher.. but to be honest, not sure if it's an option or value since my 2010 RX450h may may have HIDs? Car has adaptive headlights that move with vehichle direction (left/right)

I believe the adaptive lights (AFS) came specifically with the HID lights, at least that's the way mine is. HIDs are pretty bright generally so a simple change to LEDs might be disappointing. You could try changing out the entire light assembly for one optimized for LED, but thats expensive and you'll most likely lose the AFS system in the process. If you are simply looking for brighter, I'd suggest just looking for improved HID bulbs.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, after reading more, looks like HID for me. Are the improved bulbs much better? Or maybe I should just wait until the stock ones fail and address then.

You have D4S HID bulbs. The stock bulbs are about 3800K. You could replace them with something whiter and maybe brighter. 4200 or 4800K would be brighter and whiter. When you get up to 6000 to 7000K the lights get bluer white and you actually lose visibility.

From what I understand HID bulbs will lose brightness as they age. So if you’re running on the original bulbs you might want to try replacing them before making any changes.

Be careful conflating color temp (K) & brightness (lumens).

I know that the HID light assembly is made by Koito and the LED ones that are in the 2016+ are made by Koito as well. Would it be possible to switch the light assembly out to those found in the 2016+?

No. You cannot put 2016 (Gen 4) headlight assemblies into a Gen 3 (2010-2015) vehicle. Different shape, design, wiring etc. Totally different vehicles.

I can attest to that. I have the Gen 1 RX with 250K miles and HID self leveling lights. (it was an exotic option back 18 years ago) I didn't know I was losing brightness until about 3 years ago. Finally replaced both bulbs last year with 5500K bulbs from Xenon depot. Brightness and clarity is better than the quality of Gen 3 RX.

2013-2015 RX350 headlights will not fit the 2012 and below models as the headlamp shape is slightly different, although at first glance they look the same. The 2013-2015 headlamps are "pointier" at the lower corner nearest the grille.
