Default HID Headlight Upgrade questions

Ok, guys. I have a 2008 IS250 with factory halogens. I am seriously struggling with how bad these headlights are in the dark and I need to make a change. I am trying to figure out the best path to take that will give me the most like stock HID output. I am trying to figure out if I install a HID kit on my car as is, will the output be good. If so which is the best kit to install. Can anyone comment on the light output and pattern with these stock Halogen lens?

I have also been checking out the VIPMotoz HID built-in LED DRL upgrades. Would going this route give substantially better output?

Also, does anyone recommend a good HID fog light kit?

I've got the money to spend, but don't just want to throw it away if the lighting is virtually the same. However the LDE DRLs would be really cool! I seriously thought about swapping out the rear tails as well, but I'm just not sure if its worth it.

Thanks for you input.

Ok, I just stumbled accross some information on LED headlight upgrades. I didn't realize this was an option. The little chart on the Xenon Depot website shows that the HID lights give out more Lumens, but it does seem that way from the pics.

Check out the FAQ sticky for lighting links, recall there is one for HID in non-HID cars

I've had good luck with Xenon Depot kits

Hid lights will be brighter, but they wont shine any further or wider. I had a xenon depot kit for 6 years and when the bulbs finally died i just upgraded to silverstar halogen bulbs. Honestly the white vs yellow makes the headlights appear brighter and its good enough for me. I dont think the hids do enoigh for the money, the stock projector is the limitation and no bulbs can change that.

Thanks for your input. So, I assume the projectors on the halogen equipped cars is different than the hid projectors.

Yes, totally different, hid projectors also have automatic leveling. Just look up the price of a hid headlight, but make sure your sitting down for it lol.

MODs I think its time for a "Headlights" Sticky (if there isn't already one that is obvious)...seems like there are new threads daily on headlights, LEDs bulbs, HID bulbs, etc.
