Welcome to CL. I suggest next time you experiment with the search feature as it works well. Not many folks here do their own repairs, but you can often find instructions for almost anything on youtube
Thanks. I had used the search but came up empty on the level of detail I was hoping for. Appreciate the link to the video and had found that one. Unfortunately it didn't go far enough as I'm going to have to replace the entire housing, not just the glass and puddle light.
It looks like I can get the part for $500 and would greatly prefer not to be in for $1000 going to dealer with labor. I've pulled plenty of door panels off over the years, just never on this Lexus before. Thanks
eBay and http://www.rancholexusrecycling.com/lexus-rx.html have used mirrors. Local salvage yards all speak to each other in search of parts. If you go to one, ask them to see who else may have the mirror, you may even find one the same color as you do not want to paint it since it is plastic.
You can always go to a couple of body shops for estimates.
If you can take off a door panel, I bet you can then figure out how to remove the old mirror and bolt on a new used one.
2010 RX350 passenger side mirror glass broke.. Can I replace the mirror glass only. Will it make difference if Japan or Canada made vehicle I am not sure how the mirror got damaged, I just found the glass assembly next to the vehicle. It is similar to the video
from someone who removed the glass to replace puddle light. I called several dealer they want to sell $500 whole rear view assembly.
I think I can just buy the glass assembly, reconnect the wires and pop it back it. Thank you.
Why not just buy an entire used mirror on eBay? I just looked and there are many of them for $40 and up. If it was me I would just buy the one that is $40 ($30 + $10 shipping)
Search 2010 Lexus RX350 rear view mirror
You could always just swap the glass into your mirror if you did not want to replace it, but I think it would be easier to just bolt in a new mirror, but then I have never taken one out. Good Luck.
Many years ago I had the same issue. I went to a well-respected auto glass shop in my area. They simply measured the mirror cowling area and cut a properly-shaped piece of mirror glass for me. I pulled off the remnants of the broken mirror glass and attached the new mirror glass to its mounts using a high-grade epoxy. I think I paid $20 or $25 for the new mirror glass. It was still working fine years later when I sold the vehicle.
Are all 2010 RX350 passenger or driver door , REAR VIEW MIRROR ONLY the same mechanically installed to the housing with the exception of electrical items like heater, anti-glare, memory....
I just need to get the car on the road now and not safe for me to drive it with broken mirror, I cannot see what is to my right. I like the suggestion of " RX in NC " but there is a part number that appears to be
universal to RX350 Japan or Canada made. that I can purchase and install.
They should all be the same. Call Rancho used Lexus parts as they will know exactly what fits your vehicle and could probably sell it to you and maybe in the right color. http://www.rancholexusrecycling.com/lexus-rx.html
FYI there are many folks on eBay selling the glass only for your rear view mirror.
My first posted response was incorrect as I did not notice you meant the outside mirror.

The glass assembly from of side mirror on my daughter-in-law's 2012 Lexus RX450H disappeared mysteriously. See photo. We acquired an entirely new mirror assembly (different color housing, sadly) at a reasonable price, but can't figure out how to remove the glass assembly from the new housing to install in her mount. There's a U-tube that seems to show removal in advance of replacing the glass itself, but does not provide details except to "be careful." The dealer said a new assembly can simply be popped into place. Can anyone tell me how to remove the glass assembly from the new mirror assembly to enable it to be inserted into the frame displayed in the photo?

Look on YouTube for videos on how to change the puddle lights. If you can’t find one for a RX all Toyota’s/Lexus of this year used pretty much the same setup. Basically you have to push the mirror to look all the way up, stick your fingers in underneath and pull forward and upward at the same time. It will make you nervous especially if it’s never been removed but just as your about to give up the mirror will pop out. You will have to undo the wires for the defroster so don’t go to crazy as there’s not allot of slack on the wires. There is a bit of reusable tacky butyl on the back of the mirror. Unfortunately it sounds like someone broke there mirror and helped themselves to yours.
This is on a GS350 but it’s the same clip behind the glass.
