2011 Lexus RX350 Front Brakes
Hi, I have taken my front brakes apart and rebuilt the calipers. What I may have done is mixed up which caliper mounting bracket goes with which caliper. The left caliper is marked with an 'L' and the number 53 (Left Easy). The right caliper is marked with 'R' and the number 54 (Right Easy). I have 2 mounting brackets with the numbers 51 and 52 on them. Does anyone know which is left or right or does it not matter? Thanks for any help.

It probably matters but without photos difficult to know if they are the same upside down and backwards. Try some test fitting, or look at the instructions here as maybe the photos will help you determine which goes on which side. https://www.toyotanation.com/forum/1...fications.html
Or maybe look at some youtube videos for front brake pad replacement on the RX350, or 2008-2013 Toyota Highlander, or Toyota Venza.
I would then just try test fitting them. I would think either they are the same, or if not, it will only fit one way.
This is why it is best to do one at a time so you can look at the other to know how it is supposed to go together and do not mix up parts.
Good Luck.

+1 with clutchless
they'll either fit or not. Orientation should be obvious once you step back and take another(calm) look.remember the bracket will follow the rotor curvature.

Hi All, I eventually worked it out by looking at hundreds of photos and videos. There was one picture which showed the correct angle. The brackets are nearly identical except for a manufacturing difference on the rear of the bracket holes. In my case, the 51 bracket, did go with the 53 caliper and the 52 bracket, went with the 54 caliper. I did not mix them up after all. Both brackets would it seems fits both sides. Thanks.

Your caliper isn't going to facing away from your rotor /hub obviously. There is only one way they go back on they do not interchange. Its like putting your left shoe on the right foot it just wont fit.
