2013 RX450H Replace Tail Light
Hi everyone,
I bought a replacement right rear tail light for my RX on eBay but I can't figure out how to actually do the replacement. I was able to remove the nuts to unbolt the tail light through the small cavity in the liner (behind the black cover) but I can't figure out how to remove the boot liner in that area to get to the lower plugs to actually disconnect it from the car. Are there any guides on how to do this that I can follow? I just saw a post saying that it was easy but to be careful but not really how!
Regards!

I trust you actually did some searching as I am sure it has been covered. This link is about installing sound deadening and includes discussion and photos about taking the interior apart. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...this-rx-3.html
This thread about installing after market tail lights should also be helpful https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...-lights-2.html

Look for any screws and remove them, often the screws are in corners or on attachments such as handles etc. Pull on each panel and it will pop out. Start at one corner or side and work your way around. Plastic interior trim tools help.
They are mostly held in with plastic tab things. To replace, line them up and hammer it with the palm of your hand. There are plastic tools made for removing such interior pieces without marking the plastic trim. https://www.harborfreight.com/5-piec...set-67021.html
Amazon also has these tools.

This was great advice, thank you Clutchless! Was able to get in just enough to access the connectors for the rear taillight and swap them over. Woohoo! Thanks again!!
