Question Possible : Disabling the LED DRLs when Headlights are on ?

So, I keep the DRLs off..personal preference.

I'm wondering if I can completely disable the LED DRLs from lighting up at night, or anytime the head lamps are lit as well ?

Thanks!

The easiest way would be to just unplug them I think. There's nothing in the software that can do it as far as I know.

Why do you prefer to keep the DRLs turned off? Do you realize that you are indeed somewhat safer on the road if they are on full-time?

Personal preference, I just don't like those LED DRLs on the 3rd Gen. I really like'em on the 4th though.

Safer, hah. Driving on I-25 ( Denver ) could never be safe. People are too busy on their damn cell phones ( I believe the concept of using Bluetooth/Handsfree if they must talk, completely eludes most humans ) or tailgating!

The 3rd gen 4runner have DRLs - common hack over there is to cut the line then install an inline switch in one of the blank plates on dash near left knee. You can swtich out that bulb to a more matching white LED as well and it may not bother you as much. I THINK they are referred to as parking lights and are a 194 LED bulb.
