Default Led drl ii

In my relentless pursuit of perfection I have bought and installed a different set (#3)of LED DRL's.

These are by far the best ever. They are a true white with not a hint of blue and the are extremely bright. They are only 1 watt per led but they put the previous 3 watt to shame. These are more refined and I was able to recess them a bit more than the others. Now I am happy and don't have to keep looking for other lights. They also have an optional feature that when you turn on the headlights they turn off. At this point I have chosen not to hook them up that way. Got them on Amazon for $ 50 delivered from XKGLOW.com. Let me know what you think. Merry Christmas!!!!!!

First pic is the old one, all the rest are the new.

Looks interesting. Would installing these require cutting enough clearance for them into the plastic on the RX? Do you think it would be safer (from an accident avoidance point of view) to just use the standard DRL's? Is there any reason that you didn't wire it so that the standard DRL are also on?

Yes, I did have to cut into the black plastic on the passenger side. On the driver's side it was just one vertical brace. I have the ability to turn on the regular DRL's and have replaced the bulbs with LED's already. These are actually brighter than the stock DRL's. This was more cosmetic than accident avoidance.

Thanks for sharing, they look sharp. Any suggestions for extra bright lights for the headlights?

MEP, the second set definitely look better than the first. They're much brighter. Don't know why it takes three times to get it to perfection. I guess it's called the pursuit for a reason, for something a little better

BTW which LED bulb did you put in the DRL?

Does that only light up in reverse? In Arizona you are not allowed to block the state name at the top of the plate. It's interesting.

Those look nice, how much? The thing that bothered me most about my previous lights was the blue tint to them when lit, borderline ghetto. These new ones are a true white like on the Audi and MB. They are also super bright which was a concern when going with the 1 watt per LED. Keep me posted on your progress.

As usuall I bought some cheap e-bay bulb. I just remember they were 68 smd led, something like that. It got rid of the yellow.

for reverse lights I put in some of the Cree bulbs in and they are very bright which helps a lot with the reverse camera.

If you want true white light then you want to get bulbs in the 6000k ranges as they are almost true white. the higher you go the more blue they get and the lower they turn more yellow.
