Acceleration lag between 1st and 2nd gear
I've got an RX350 2010 with 130K on the clock and it's really been an amazing workhorse.
Regularly maintained and really no problems.
But the last couple of weeks it seems to have a lag issue when moving between first and second gears (automatic shift) when i accelerate slowly.
This happens @15 mph.
If I floor it or just accelerate more quickly then it works normally.
And otherwise, in the higher ranges there is no problem at all.
No engine light.
Only other thing is it is due for service in about 1000 miles (10K oil change service)
Any ideas before I spend a lot at the dealers?
The biggie I'm worried about is transmission issues but wouldn't it be a problem through the whole range?

There are numerous threads on this forum regarding automatic transmission fluid, which might be worth reading up on. If the vehicle has been serviced exclusively by Lexus authorised service departments, the fluid would have never been touched, and still original. Perhaps one of the solenoids inside the gearbox is sticky. A fluid change might resolve the shift issue.

Yep, there are times when a "lifetime" product (like the Lexus tranny fluid) doesn't mean forever. Obviously, your transmission needs a good inspection, if not a full servicing at the dealer--including a fluid change. Hold on to your wallet!

There seems to be a disconnect at the dealers and the Lexus.com site. This is what i got from drivers.lexus.com and it appears to list a transmission fluid replacement every 30k miles. Your transmission fluid was due at 120k and next at 150k.

Thanks all for the advice!
Checked with the dealer;
Fluid was not replaced at 120K.
Presumably not before either.
I guess most cars go to the scrap heap in the USA before they need transmission fluid changing.

Or they go to the scrap heap because it was never changed and lifetime really means until the transmission fails (after the warranty ends of course). It is a good practice to do it around 60,000 as indicated in the manual excerpt above. I think that reference is for severe service, but it should apply to all vehicles.
