inspection before warranty expire
Hello Guys
My Rx350 2010 came with an 8 year extended warranty (by lexus) and is expiring in 45 days. it cover almost every part of the car.
My rx has 75 000 miles and in few days I will have a free 55 points inspections done by my dealer. (its a promotion normaly its 250$)
What are the most common issue that need extra attention at inspection (any belt, chain, fuel or water pump...suspension part or sensor).
The tech told me that i will have to leave the car for a day and they are giving me a loaner because the car is inspected in depth..not a 10 min inspection lol.
thank you

They will focus on wear item parts like filters, brakes, tires, suspension, fluid levels/leaks, etc. Things most likely to need attention (and as a bonus things they often can charge you for). The rest of the inspection will just be a quick look and shake to see what falls off, a few squirts of lubricant here and there, and maybe a quick test drive to Timmy's to see if it drives and sounds normal. If you haven't specifically complained about something, they won't look beyond what is easy to see, hear, or feel.

Make sure they check for the infamous timing chain cover oil leak.
If you have the towing package have them check for the condition of the oil cooler rubber hoses. There is a notice and extended warranty of those and Lexus has a replacement fix using metal tubes. If the rubber ones fail Lexus says they will cover replacement, however they often fail on the highway where you lose all your oil in seconds and destroy the engine before you know it and then Lexus claims you were negligent and will not buy you a new engine. If it has the rubber oil cooler hoses I would get them replaced even if you pay for it. I now see you are in Canada and I think you guys actually had a recall for this hose.
Not related to warranty, but I would pay for a transmission fluid exchange or flush as preventive maintenance since you plan to keep this vehicle.

Lexus called me today. they said my front shock need to be replaced under warranty.
they said my hood shock need to be changed and the price including 25% rebate is 400$. Why that much ?
When i left the car i complained about exhaust noise. After checking they said i need to replace 2 front pipe gasket because there is some air leak. 200$ .. is it pricey ?

Why the other items are not covered under warranty?

Hood shock for $400? Are they charging you for a gold plated version? If you do a quick search on eBay, hood shocks are in the vicinity of $20 per pair, delivered.
Exhaust leak should be a warranty item. Come to think of it, so should the hood shock.

I had a look through eBay and these struts are lot dearer than the $20 BMW e39 struts that I bought a couple of weeks ago.
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Lexus-TOYOTA...0/112839751404
Still a lot cheaper than what Lexus dealer is asking for - if the warranty is written in your guide, you should demand to speak to their manager for an explanation of why they are violating the warranty agreement.

Is there not a longer federal emission warranty (like in the US) that may cover the exhaust issue?
