My factory lug nut tool worked fine when I rotated the tires in late June as part of the 80,000-mile service. Guess this is something else I need to add to the list of things to watch out for on this vehicle.

Here is damage caused by AAA car care center because they tried to jam a 21mm impact socket onto factory swollen lug nut integrated caps. I used a 22mm to get these off due to the damage. I took these off myself a couple weeks prior to replace brakes and they may have been swollen but perfect condition otherwise. The manager at AAA was very familiar with this issue and said his more experienced mechanics own a 21.5mm for this reason.
