I got one off ebay for 90 dollars and the dealer programmed it for 40 dollars. That did not include the cut key.

 

RX350 2012. I'm not having success with getting my spare key fob (purchased off ebay) to be programmed. I'm using multiple locksmith to do this. They were charging $70-85 to program it, and since I'm driving to them, I'm not being charged a service fee. I had to returned the Fob back to the seller on eBay and he sent another one. Again,not successful by 2 locksmiths. I figured I could do it myself using the TechStream and instructions on YouTube, but for $70, I don't mind having a locksmith do it for me. And since I have my working original fob, I'm not really in a hurry. Perhaps someone can guide me on make sure I get the correct part from ebay. Seems like all the eBay sellers are saying it should program. If locksmiths can't do it, I'm not having confidence on myself doing it with a Techstream app. I listing all the relevant id's and numbers I'm able so see in the fobs.

The back of both my original and the eBay one are identical:

I have recently bought a 2012 RX350 which came with only set of FOB. I am looking for a second set in case I lose this one.
You good people, please help me getting a second set of FOB without having to spend a inordinate amount of money. I am sure some of you might have already bought.
I used to have 2008 RX400H and recently totaled it. RX400H came with two sets of keys and one valet key. I am rookie as regards etiquette of posting a thread in this forum.
The moderator of this forum please direct me to appropriate place for this thread. Estimate of how much it will cost me get this? Thanks for your help. I am useless in programing etc.

Here in the US we have mobile locksmiths who can come to you and cut/program a second key for you while you wait. This process is always significantly less costly than going to a dealership. I presume Australia has mobile locksmiths as well.

 

Hi, I contacted a small business in a mall, they quoted $500. I need to explore more on that mobile locksmith option. Because there is no key and the remote is keyless, it makes it expensive.

I was quoted $440 CDN by the dealership for a new key fob for my 2015 RX350. The price includes programing. Is this a fair price?

You can purchase the Key Fob w. uncut key for about $160- $200 USD, Then you can ask around to see how much those that have a techstream program will charge to program it for you.

There are many other sources including Ebay..This one popped up with a google search
