Default 3rd brake light flasher

Has anybody added a 3rd brake light flasher to your RX 350?
If so how did you do it?
I have done this to my other car and consider it a great safety feature.
thanks

Have you ever waited for a red light after some cars with flash brake light at night? Try it, and you will never want to install this.

These things have never been proven to have any safety benefit at all. They're junk and often distributed through pyramid schemes as a way to have a home internet business.

Adaptive brake lights installed in vehicles from Toyota and other car companies that are sold in Europe and recently approved for Canada are a completely different matter and have proven benefits.

Please don't install crap like this!

Many buses in my area have the brake light that flashes a few times initially before staying solid red. I think it does get your attention. I installed one on my old MINI Cooper and on a friends Jeep Wrangler. However I was not aware of any studies about them and am not inclined to install one on the RX.

I installed one from 3rdbrakeflasher.com. They are programmable/customizable. I have mine programmed to flash rapidly for the first couple of seconds, then a slower flash for 3 seconds, then after that it goes steady red. Once the flash sequence is complete, the lights won't flash again until 18 seconds have elapsed without the foot on the brake. This keeps the annoyance down for those following in heavy traffic or at the drive-thru.First one I got was a dud, but they sent me a 2nd one and that one's been running fine for a couple years.

I think they are a great idea. Anything to get a texter to look up before finishing their message..

To install, just have to pop out the trim pieces on the sides and top of the gate, and you can access the center brake lamp wires. It's a bit snug, but the flasher device is small enough to be wired in, then just tucked away. To program, two lead wires are touched together to change features, kind of like sending morse code.
