RX450h Brake Issue / Squeak
Hi folks,
My wife drives a 2010 RX450h and about two days ago it developed a squeak that seems to be coming from the rear passenger side wheel. It only happens when you are decelerating. It does not occur when you're pumping the brakes sitting still or even when driving slowly. I noticed a few posts about the emergency brake cable on the 2010s causing noise due to not being properly lubricated and wondered if this could be the issue.
This is the sound and it only happens one time during deceleration. She is letting off the brake and pushing down again in the video.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

My 2013 RX450h has that sound, too. I just ignored it then after a couple of weeks it just gone.
There are plenty cases on the forum. Some people said the sound is from the "brake actuator".
BTW, I could hear the sound even when the car was fully stop and I hitted the brake paddle waiting for the red light.

Do the due diligence, but Lexus rotors take on surface rust on exposure to moisture. This surface rust makes noise till it get scraped off by braking. for 450H the surface dust lasts longer as the regenerative braking reduces the pad to rotor contact over time.
So if you only hear the squeak after car-wash, rain, going over puddles or long in-active driving time, the surface rust can be one of the reasons .. specially if it goes away after a few [a little more than a few for 450H] stops.

My 2011 rx450h is making the exact same sound. It's getting progressively worse. Were you ever able to find a solution? I posted a video of my sound as well in the Google photos link below.
Sometimes the sounds happens even at a complete stop while holding the brake.

Did you ever find a solution to this?

By procrastinating you may make the damage worse and end up spending lot more.
There are advantages in getting input by group sourcing [like posting on the forum] but at times you need to go explore on case by case basis.

I am having the same noise issue on my 2016 RX 450h. I ignored it also and now it is louder than ever and makes the noise eveytime I push the brake peddle. It dosentmatter if I'm moving or parked.
It is coming from the passage side front tire area.
Check out my video of the issue. The car is parked in my garage and engine is not on.

This is probably covered under the Lexus extended warranty program 23LE04 which provides coverage into March 2024 for issues with the brake booster and brake booster pump assemblies. See post 10 in the thread linked below which has a copy of it pasted. Print it out and take it with your car to the Lexus dealer. It covers the 2016 RX450h.
