I am wanting to purchase a 2010 or 2011 rx350. Are the back up cameras for these years all integrated into the rear view mirror?

 

Navigation package puts the camera view on the dashboard I believe. Our '10 is without Nav & the image shows up on the rear view mirror.

 

Our '10 RXh has the Nav, and the backup camera view is on the screen in the dash -- no mirror view at all (aside from the normal reflection you get with any common mirror).

 

Isn't there an offering without Nav and backup camera in mirror?

Our '11 has the backup camera picture as a thumbnail in the mirror. No nav. Small picture. Only meant to check for items/people behind car, not as an aid to backing up.

It's beginning to sound to me like the backup camera image is only in the mirror if you did not get the Nav system, but is otherwise on the Nav display.

While anything is possible with enough time and Money, it is not a cost-effective solution to install
a Navigation system into a car built without it. If you want to attempt this, go to www.crutchfield.com
and look into the various Garmin and Kenwood products that may suite your needs.

 

No. It has a different dash design, Screen in the middle of the dash, different wiring harness and operation system due to the Nav system and different (better) audio system.
It would be cheaper to sell yours and get an RX with Nav. Although the Nav itself is Terrible and out of date, it does give you a better view backing up and a better audio system etc.
