Hi guys

2012 Lexus RX 350. I just bought this car but there is no light for the gear shift. interior is so dark I cant even see the gear shift, and once i find it with my hand have to rely on the gear display in the dash to tell me what gear it is in. I cant believe this is normal. i have googled and I can see fixes for the 2nd generation rx, but nothing for 3rd generation. also, the gear shift is very different between gen 2 and 3.

Bump. Looking at the manual it talks about a Shift Lever Light which is above your head between the personal lights. Is that the only light that lights up the gear shift area at night? I expected a light in the gear shift console which would illuminate the gear letters. Also, no other lights seem to be out, so i doubt it is a fuse.

 

You are supposed to look at the indicator on the dash by the speedometer.

 

i have to admit my 2005 RX had much more interior lighting. the door handle area at night, the door sills lit up, the center console cup holders had lights. lexus really cheapened up on the lighting on the 2015.
