Default Suspension Issue

So there is word on here that the 2010-2012 RX350 (to my knowledge) suffer from a suspension issue. When I talked to the guys at Aussie Auto here in Toronto they told me that I have a good chance of getting the shocks replaced under warranty, or I pay a partial amount. My car has about 118,000kms (74,000~ miles). In your opinion, what are the chances that the dealer will agree to replace the shocks at this point in time?

The issue was rear shocks leaking. If they are leaking (look for a wet shock) they may cover it, however it appears you are out of warranty, unless the Canada warranty is longer than in the US.
The front has struts and they did not have any issues.

Oh im waaaay out of warranty and thats the main issue. They (Aussie Auto) that I might have to pay labour and they cover the parts. But I guess I'll give it a try and see what happens. And yes both my rears are gone; the passenger rear is totally wet (and not in the good way :P jks jks).

You have nothing to lose by asking, especially if you are a regular at the dealer for service. It is the service regulars that get the warranty favors because they have already spent so much money! The cheapest way is to buy replacement rear shocks for under $40 each from www.lexuspartsnow.com and have a local shop install them, which is fairly easy and cheap. They could install both rear shocks in under an hour. Why I could install both in my garage in under an hour, but that is not an offer.

It is the front struts that are expensive and time consuming to install and you need an alignment after strut installation.

You see my issue is that I used to go for everything to my dealer then I just stopped cold turkey. I probably haven't been there for two years for any service. I'm afraid they'll try and swindle me to do a service or something.
