Looked at a 2013 AWD yesterday, loaded, but it had 3k left on the warranty. It was in decent shape, but far from pristine. The dealer offered it for a good price, $30k, but I keep turning back to the 2015 FWD that looks like new (and two years of warranty left). Had to rationalize, but I think I'm good paying the extra $5k for a newer vehicle with fewer miles.

Are the led fog lights a nice upgrade from the halogen?

Anyone have pics of their LEDs?

Or could point me to a good place to buy? I just bought a '13 with HID's and halogen fogs and would like to upgrade.

The rain sensing wipers in the RX are (at least in theory) "don't touch". They activate and self adjust to rain intensity and vehicle speed when you leave them in the AUTO position. In my experience, they work moderately well. There are times when I need to step in and command them when they are reacting too slow to too fast, though.
^^ Same here.

In my experience, rain sensing wipers regardless of vehicle brand work "ok". As you mentioned, I also need to step in (more times than not) to command them to wipe, usually due to them reacting way too slow.. I've mentioned it before somewhere on the forum, I much prefer the old school intermittent wipers.

This is something else that's gone down the tubes then. Our 99 GX had auto wipers and not once did I ever intervene. They worked flawlessly, right along with the auto recirculate features on the HVAC that used to be standard. I miss that far more than the auto wipers though.

My GS has a much nicer implementation than my RX. The wiper stalk has an AUTO pushbutton switch on the end of it. Leave it on AUTO, and very little intervention is required. If you turn the AUTO switch to OFF, the wiper system, including the intermittent function, works the same as a car without rain sensing wipers.

With that said, I don't really complain about it as I am quite impressed with their functionality in both cars. I find they work quite well but yes, there are times that you will want to intervene.

So between the 2014 and 2015 RX 350, its a wash in feature set? I can get a significantly better deal on the 2014 over 2015 used.

Not to insult your intelligence, but how long do you plan to keep it? Look back that far and look at the price difference of trade on that age vehicle versus a year older.

For example, I found a 2015 for roughly $35k.... most dealers wanted $33k for a 2013, so I paid the extra $2k. I think I'll get it back when I go to sell (in five or six years), plus I gained a couple of years of warranty (hard to quantify, but some additional piece of mind).

Not to thread jack but better than starting a new one. My wife and I are shopping for a new car for her.

We have test driven lots of cars and suv and she likes the 3rd gen rx350 and its priced right with low miles. But we are split between the new Jeep GC limited and the RX. We like the jeep but do not like that its made by Chrysler. when spending 30k on a car I feel that it should run well and not have problems every 5k, from some light reading the jeeps have problems.

I have read up on the 3rd gen RX350 and like most Lexus cars/SUV it seems to run like a charm when taken care of. I am BIG on service so that will not be a problem.
I'm coming here to see what all of you think of your RX's as we will most likely buying one when we find one with all the specs we want.

This will be our first Lexus street car, we have had everything from Audi A4s to chevy's we are not really biased to brands we buy based off what works best for what we need. My Wife had an A4 and liked it but now a SUV is what we need. The Audi was a bit needed and she will be DD the lexus so we opted not to shop for Q5 or Q7.

What we need for the next 5 years is a mid siz comfortable reliable SUV and it looks like the RX350 fits the build !

Thanks for any feed back.

Welcome GOODBYENA,

We have a '13 RX with about 28k miles on it. We absolutely love it. It's had 2 oil changes (every 10k). Not a squeak, rattle, or issue otherwise. No doubt one of the best cars we've ever owned. The lease is coming to an end so sadly we'll have to part with it soon, but I've loved this RX far more than I ever would have thought. It's an excellent road tripper, family hauler, and Home Depot shopping cart.

I think we've decided to replace it with a Highlander, but we'll forever miss the RX.

Just curious why? I drove an RX, then a Highlander. I liked the Highlander, but didn't need the space. Wife said 'buy the Lexus'.

(I did prefer the nav in the highlander.)

We need the space of the Highlander. If the new RX was available with a 3rd row we'd do that.
