Default 2016 RX350 wheels/tires to 2010?

Is it possible to install the factory 2016 RX350 wheels & tires to my 2010 FWD? The tires size of 2016 is 235/55/20, thanks!!!

If Lexus kept the bolt pattern, wheel hub size, and stud size the same , then yes the 2016 RX wheel should fix the 2010 RX easily.

However, those 2016 Lexus RX wheels are going to be pricey$$$ for a while unless you find set discounted at a wheel shop or online that is left over from when someone upgrade the stock wheels for aftermarket wheels, which is going to happen eventually.

The tire size may be the only thing that need to be modified.

The problem is the 2016 tire size listed above is one inch larger in diameter than the 235/55/19 inch tire size. This will make your speedometer read slower than your actual speed. I would get the wheels, but a different tire size to equal a true plus one upgrade which maintains the original tire diameter. Such as 235/50/20.
However, I agree with carguy75, you are going to pay a lot for new 2016 wheels unless you can find takeoffs somewhere. Lots of nice aftermarket wheels that are even a bit wider, such as 8 or 8.5 inch which will allow a wider tire.

Default 235/50R20 equals 235/55R19 in term of gasoline consuming and reliability with safe?

If we put RX350 2016 235/50R20 to our 2010 RX350, do you think it is safe to drive? It consumes more gasoline than 235/55R19? How about reliability? Does it affect engine performance?

It will be safe to drive if you drive safely. It should not consume much more gas but the larger wheels and tires do weigh more so mileage may go down a bit and it will feel different. It will not affect reliability or engine performance.

I have asked the rim and tire seller about putting 2016 RX350 rim and wheel to my 2010 RX350. He said it will consume more gasoline then my current rim. It makes the engine performance a bit slow.

True because he is combining the 2016 wheel with the 2016 tire size. You need to go to a different tire size that is smaller and the same diameter as your 19 inch wheel and tire. This is called a plus one or two upgrade.

For instance the 2010-2015 RX350 came with either 18 inch wheels and 253/60/18 tires. Or it had 19 inch wheels and 235/55/19 tires. Both were about the same diameter overall.

The 2016 20 inch wheels and 235/55/20 tires are too big and will affect driving. That is why you need 255/45/20 or 265/45/20 tires which are almost the same diameter as the original 18 or 19 inch wheels and tires. That tire size will not affect you mileage and performance. However 255 may be too wide for the factory wheel if it is still 7.5 inches wide. If it is 8 inches you should be fine.

LOL.

Just like any thing in life there will be trade-offs.

Larger wheels and tires usually looks better but most often reduces engine/braking performance and ride quality if the car remains the same as it was with the original wheel/tires due to creating more unsprung weight on the axle.

The additional unsprung weight takes more engine power to rotate and longer to decelerate which creates longer braking distances.

Furthermore, the additional unsprung weight also makes the shocks/strut work harder to control rebound to road imperfections hence rougher ride than the lighter wheels.

The larger OEM wheel set-up will not improve your car at all besides appearance.

Hence why my wife refuses to let me modify any car she drives anymore with custom wheels since I put 20in wheels on her old 2005 Mercury Montego AWD years ago and the ride quality/gas mileage sucked afterwards.

Improved the car looks though since it was a nice car overall except for the boring 18in wheels that came on it OEM.

My wife loved that car though until i made it "look better".
