I was looking at pictures of the new 450h and noticed the gear shift **** is totally in the way of the front console buttons:
I realize that when you're driving the vehicle, it moves slightly out of the way, but it's still protruding at an awkward angle from the front of the console.
Neoxagon, that's the current gen RX. I don't find the gear shift to be in the way especially when driving. Here are pictures of the new '16 RX interior courtesy of the Lexus Asia website:
(Note, I moved the thread to the 3RX forum since the gear shift is not unique to the 450h and others can comment)
Agree with Anita, shift **** does not seem to be in the way to me…..even while in park I'm able to reach all buttons from drivers seat.
Do you actually own a 3RX?
No, but I'm in the market for a new car and it is one of my choices. I started doing some research and immediately noticed the awkward placement of the gear shifter.

That's a relief, I guess I'll wait until the 2016 comes out.
While the picture does make it look like it would be in the way, in reality there's quite a bit of room there, so I'll agree with the others that it's not an issue. Of note also is the fact that those are the controls for the climate control. I just leave mine in auto so quite frankly, I never use those buttons anyway, save for the occasional small adjustments.
Neoxagon, if you want to hold out for the '16 RX, there's more information including pictures here. It's probably going to be out towards year end here in the states. At least you know the gear shift is not a problem on the '15 if you wind up sticking with your original plan.
Of the couple annoyances I've found with my 2015 RX 350, the gear shift **** is not one of them. I find no problem accessing any of the buttons on the dash, no matter what position the shift lever is in. Go sit in one and take it for a test drive and find out for yourself.
