Thinking about tinting the front side door windows. Any recommendation? I want it to be lighter than the rare so I don't get pull over in Cali. Thanks in advance.

 

what are the cali laws? from what ive seen many people refuse to tint windows in cali since cops are hard there. i have 35% on my front windows (legal here in NC) and they are perfect for what i want not too dark not too light.

 

California has a no tolerance policy for front windows being tinted, not worth the hassle IMHO.

 

35% will stand out a bit, might want to do 50% then, they are barely noticeable but keep the car cooler and slightly, very slightly darker

 

I don't know the ratio on my Florida-Dealer-installed tints; but they border on obstructive (read: unsafe) in dark or dark-and-rainy situations; and I feel better rolling them down in parking garages, as I have had some near-oops with them up.

 

agreed. I used to live in So California and I had a 1999 Honda with a 35% tint and I was told by the officer to take it off. Officers in Cali love to pull over cars with tints like that.

 

All my cars have the front windows tinted. RX (40%, Camry (30%), Pilot (40%), GS (30%). Go with ceramic (helps reduce heat), but don't make it too dark. Don't do anything stupid that warrants a citation. If you're sitting in traffic next to one, open up the sunroof shade to add extra interior lighting or just open your windows .
