CPO and 30K service..
So,
I bought a CPO 2010 RX 350 with about 25K miles.
Now I have about 30K miles on it and when I scheduled for the OIL change service the service person said that the 30K miles service is recommended. In that they change the air filters etc..
so the question is.. since its a CPO vehicle.. wouldnt that have been done already? Do I need to get the recommended 30K service? or perhaps skip the portions that may have been done as a CPO vehicle.
Thanks to you all in advance..

i would expect at a CPO purchase the basic consumables such as oil and air filters have been replaced. Essentially giving the new owner a peace of mind of a "fresh start" baseline to begin maintenance.
Did you speak to a general service tech or service manager? and were they aware it was purchased as a CPO?

If they were replaced it should be in the online service record that you can look up using the VIN.

You should have gotten a 161 point checklist that shows what has, and has not been done to the vehicle at the CPO inspection. You can dig deeper into the car's maintenance history by asking the Service Advisor to print out the vehicle history. He/she will need the VIN, the long number that identifies the car. It's on your registration and the finance papers that came with the car. That's what I had to do to find out that my shocks had been replaced just before I bought the car. This is where you can find out exactly when the oil, air filters (2), tire rotation, etc. were done. BTW, it rained right after we took delivery, and the windshield wipers were streaky, so Lexus fitted new wiper blades, no questions asked, for free. Great service at Roseville Lexus, near Sacramento. Gotta give 'em a plug.

This thread came up as a "related topic" in another thread, and I figured I'd add to it. I got my CPO RX @ 15K mi, and it had just gotten the oil change and stuff that you would expect on the every-10K services. I'm now due for the 20K, but we'll just do the service that falls in between the oil changes instead. That's likely how yours got done too...

Update: Actually they did the 20K with oil change, even though I'd just had a change at 15K. They said they wanted to get it back on the even intervals (10K, 20K, 30K, etc) It was free, so no skin off my nose.
I do know nothing is FREE, it's just built into the price of the lease. Anyway, I didn't have to pay anything at the service dept...

Going for my 30000 service tomorrow with my 2013, purchased it in April as part of the promotion they gave me two free services for a year, haven't had that before on my 2010, i would always just do oil change at the dealership.

All done for free under the warranty, front brakes are at 3mm and rotors needs to be resurfaced. Dealer wants $340 for it. Is it worth getting it done here or just order ( if yes, are these good?? http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....001020&jsn=353 )

I would get a second opinion on the brakes, however for a dealer the price is not bad. Have heard good things about those Powerstop brakes. I needed new rear pads at 33,000! Fronts were still good at 40,000 when I replaced them because the factory rotors had rusted to pieces such that the Virginia state inspector, we have to get yearly safety checks down here, recommended I replace them. I got the Raybestos professional grade rotors at Rock Auto because they have an anti-rust paint or coating on the non wear areas.

well they don't feel secure, I've noticed when i quickly slam on the brakes cuz of an idiot coming onto the road from no where, the stoping power is not good, its been like that for at least a month, i was just waiting until service because going to the russian auto repairs in brooklyn is useless, they always want to make money on you. Last year in Spring i put brand new brakes on my 2010 RX, week or two later i went to do my NYS inspection, they were claiming that my brakes are done, rotors needs to be replaced and front axels are done, until i showed them the receipt from Lexus on the work that has been done.
I spoke with a service rep after my appointment last night, he said they can install brakes for me if i were to come with my but that would cost $318 just for the labor, shops nearby charge about $150-200 for the job, so combined with $150 brake kit it would come out to the same price as what Lexus gives me if i do their brakes there. i don't really trust the local shops cuz none are really good as I've learned over the last year, dealing with double accident repairs and wrongful services.

Try the Toyota dealer for your brake job and other maintenance. Same parts, same training, but often lower prices.
Rotors are so cheap (at least for a do-it-yourselfer) that I much prefer to replace them rather than machine them.

I currently have 3 more free maintenances with Lexus so i have to use them up within next year and a half, so might as well. As for replacing rotors, i saw a guide here, it seemed pretty straight forward but i don't really want to try it on my own car, i don't feel like dying lol, gotta try on some of my friends first
