Just picket up my 2015 RX450h. I want to replace the rear center console with a wood trimmed cover that is bamboo like the rest of the interior. Does anyone know where you can buy this?

I just custom ordered a 2015 RX 450h with the Parchment interior. I ordered the car with just about every option except the rear seat entertainment. I am hoping that the Luxury package includes the Bamboo wood trim on the rear seat armrest compartment cover. I currently have a 2010 RX450h with the walnut interior that has the wood on the rear armrest cover, but I have noticed quite a few pictures that show the rear armrest compartment cover made of plastic in 2015. I'll let you know what I get when my car arrives in late July or early August. If the rear armrest does have the wood, then I would assume the part is available from Lexus. According to the RX brochure, both the premium package and the Luxury package provides the wood rear armrest cover. You get bamboo wood trim with the RX450h model.

 

My '13 RX350 with the premium package does not have the wood armrest. Today I'm driving a loaner '15 RX450h with bamboo and the premium package. I'll take a look later today and see if the armrest is bamboo or not.

EDIT: To follow up, I checked the '15 RX I am driving now and it does not have the wood panel on the rear center armrest.

 

IIRC, people started reporting the lack of wood on the rear seat center armrest with some of the 2013s.

My particular 2013 RX450h with essentially every option including the Luxury Pkg, with Parchment interior and Espresso trim, has wood on the rear center armrest. I suspect that is because my RX was one of the first off the line in 2012 when the 2013s started to be built, and Lexus used some existing assemblies left over from the 2012s, unlike what was intended for the 2013. I got wood on my armrest, but also oddly have the connectors on the back of my (2012) rear seats for nonexistent tonneau flaps that were discontinued on the 2013s. I don't remember when the Bamboo trim was introduced (2014?), but it wasn't an option on the 2013s.
