I was just searching this for my 2013 RX350 and found this thread. I'm surprised to see Cadillac thought of something Lexus did not.
The SRX Crossover power liftgate with memory height allows you to open the rear liftgate to any pre-programmed height, and close it, at the touch of a button.
The Chevrolet Equinox has an adjustable hatch as well, though not as thorough as the Cadillac edition. Hard to miss the commercials showing this feature.
Audi Q7 and Q5 have them as well. Another cost effect scenario for Lexus, I guess.
More a case of Lexus being slow to implement features. Think about how long they included cassette players in their vehicles, how long it took to provide a auxiliary input for the stereo to connect an MP3 player, etc.
I wonder how many people really find this feature useful or use it at all if it were available? If it's one in a million I think it's hardly worth the development effort and cost to build it into the vehicle.
I'd rather get the better gas mileage, better leather quality than such odd feature.
If I open the tail gate from the button on the tail gate, it open's manually unlike powered control from remote. Does anyone knows how to adjust the settings on tail gate button so that it powered open.

I'd certainly use it - my parking bay at work has a fire sprinkler right where the hatch opens - I have to be super careful. From the small sample in this thread I think it would be way more than one in a million using the feature. I doubt there is a huge development effort and cost - lots of other makes (Audi, Benz, etc etc) have this useful feature.
On a different but related note, my boss has an old but beautiful LS400. The first day he had it, he backed it into his bay, under a concrete overhang. It just fitted until he got out and the thing rose up a few millimetres on the springs and scratched the boot lid.

Powered opening is only available from the key fob or the button inside the vehicle. However the gas struts (on mine, anyway) are strong enough to lift the hatch without any help once you've released the catch.
my1strx350, usually it's one push of the button on the tail gate to unlock all doors, then second push to open under power. Otherwise it may need to be programmed by the dealer. Check here for the list of Lexus Personalized Settings (LPS) based on model year to see your options.

Thanks for that Anita - I'll have to talk to my dealer!

TOYOTA RAV4 has this feature, I guess it must be useful for most of the RAV4 owners.
Just purchased a 2013 RX 350 few days ago. The garage I'm temporarily in right now is a bit too low and when I open the tailgate, it bumps into it right at the end of it opening.
Is there a way to adjust how far the tailgate opens? Haven't found anything so far.
On my 2010 I can just press on the button on the outside hatch itself to release and manually raise it up. I would think the 2013 still had the feature. The button is on the underside of the chrome trim piece/handle. I have not disabled the power part, I can still hit the dash button or remote button to open it.
