Default Tailgate adjustment?

Just purchased a 2013 RX 350 few days ago. The garage I'm temporarily in right now is a bit too low and when I open the tailgate, it bumps into it right at the end of it opening.

Is there a way to adjust how far the tailgate opens? Haven't found anything so far.

Welcome to the forum, but bad news, the height is not adjustable.

You'll want to consider disabling the power hatch when in the garage to open the hatch manually to control the impact. Button is in the glovebox.

Good luck.

If you disable the power hatch can it be opened manually? There doesn't seem to be a manual release for it.

On my 2010 I can just press on the button on the outside hatch itself to release and manually raise it up. I would think the 2013 still had the feature. The button is on the underside of the chrome trim piece/handle. I have not disabled the power part, I can still hit the dash button or remote button to open it.

corradoMR2, thanks, finally picked up the Lexus I wanted and figured I came to the right place for answers and help with it.

No big deal I guess, especially considering I'm in the place temporarily, moving to a house soon where they have standard garages rather than this dinky thing. For now I think I'll put one of those kid floating tubes on the garage so it acts as a bumper. Same thing I've done for the doors.
