hum noise when turning
Hello everyone,
I was away from this forum for a while, glad to see it is so active!
My 2010 RX350 started to make 'hum - hum - hum' noise whiling turning. It is fine while driving straight, only makes this noise while on a curve. If I disable traction control, the noise seems going away, at least it is a lot less. It will be greatly appreciated if experts on the forum can let me know what could be the possible cause(s) for this.
Thank you very much for your help!

You should probably have a professional mechanic inspect it as it could be safety related.
How many miles are on it? How sharp of a turn? Road curve? Or a right turn onto another street? How fast do you need to be moving? How old are your tires? How is the steering otherwise? Could be a bad wheel bearing, bad ball joints, stuck or frozen brake caliper, or a number of other front suspension parts, or something related to an electronic control system (less likely).

Thanks!
Thanks! Lexus service department finally fixed the problem - it is the wheel bearing, they have to replace it and the hub too.
This RX only has 30K miles, and I am wondering if this is a common problem, since the service adviser said the tech did find something regarding this issue in their computer system. But when I asked if there was a service bulletin on this, she would not give me a straight answer.
I am worried about other three wheel bearings now, if one can go bad, most likely others might do the same, what do you guys think?
Once again thank Clutchless for your information!

Front wheel bearing failure is not a common problem and there is no service bulletin regarding the wheel bearings, but there may be some other notice provided to the dealers. The front ones wear out much faster than the rear ones as they do more work with the steering and extra engine weight. I would not be concerned about your other wheel bearings failing. The one that did fail was probably defective from the start which lead to an early death. It is good they replaced the entire hub which contains the bearings rather than try to press out and replace the bearings in the old hub. You should be good for another 100,000 miles.
