I have had this problem with iPhone 4 and still do with iPhone 6 using iOS 8.0.2 in my 2010 RX350 Multi-Media Bluetooth...
If I click to dial a number from Contacts (or using Siri accessing Contacts), call starts but quickly drops before ringing through. I then have to find the call in phone's "Recents" tab and click again there to complete the call. Only happens in Bluetooth in the RX350.
I upgraded to iOS 8 last week and ever since then the bluetooth music volume is barely audible at max level. The radio is fine. I can't find any mention of this anywhere so I'm wondering if its the upgrade or something else.
Do a google search for reset all settings ... make sure you backup your iCloud docs first, but this fixed 99% of the issues people have been having with bluetooth.

Any tips?
Siri isn't really that compatible with the car. I would make sure your contacts are transferred to the car and use the car's voice command.
I had problems pairing my new iPhone 6 to my 2015 RX…I ended up going to the dealership…they paired it for me, but before I was even out of the parking lot, it came unpaired... so I went back…the second time they did it was a success…glad to read it wasn't just me…I was sort of embarrassed to be going in for that!
On a side note - I am not a fan of the new iPhone 6
I have 2 4s that have been upgraded to IOS 8, and 2 cars. No issues anywhere.Does anyone know what the problem is? It seems odd that some phones would react so differently to the same OS.
I like IOS 8, but it really doesn't seem that different on our 4s.
I have no issues with iOS 8.0.2 in my 2015 RX. The only thing I noticed is that bluetooth streaming is a little weird when you start the engine. It'll make the song play on my phone for 1 second while it connects to the stereo, but that's about it.
Just paired my new iPhone 6 last night to my 2010 RX. Could not have been easier, and everything works perfectly. I think this article may have been referring to the first release of IOS 8. The updated version (IOS 8.02) seems to have solved the issues. I have 8.02
I own a 2013 RX350 with Navigation. I am debating whether to get a Samsung Galaxy S5 or an Apple iPhone 6. After reading all these posts, I am still no clearer in making a decision,
Does the iPhone 6 offer all the bluetooth capabilities available in a 2013 RX350? Currently, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and it pairs easily - no drops, has no issues streaming audio, reads out SMS messages to me, shows caller id on the screen, etc. Can all these be achieved with the iPhone6?
