Default Radar Mirror Tap

I have a 2013 rx350 and i read a lot of post regarding hardwire of v1 detector. I decided to do it and just ordered the mirror tap. Does anyone have pics of doing the mirror tap? Also just ordered a dash cam. Do you have any suggestions on expanding my 12 volt charger? im travelling from IL to CA in 2 weeks, gotta get everything ready. Took my rx from IL to Montreal, CA to Maine to East Hampton, NY to Niagara Falls last year. This time to the west coast.

here is a pic of my v1(was taking a photo of my tinted windshield but you can see the radar detector in it)..oh and i got the 8inch cord and theres not MUCH room to play with as far as mounting the detector.. where i have it in that pic is about as far out as it will go
