Default RX 350 2014 vs 2015

Here is my dilemma. For same money ($538 per month taxes and fees included, 36/12) I can lease RX 350 2015 (FWD, premium package with BSM, Nav) or 2014 (AWD, luxury, comfort, packages, HID headlamps, mark levinson audio). The 2014 comes with 4.6 k higher MSRP price, which is good but I will not need AWD very often in Texas Panhandle and HID lamps now standard. I would like to have extra comfort and luxury packages and especially ML sound but it comes at the expense of slightly heavier and more gas hungry AWD vehicle. I would like some help in making decision. I will likely buy the vehicle at the end of lease.

Also, is 4.5 k off MSRP a good deal on 2015?

I'd go for the 14. The gas mileage difference is not that great and the lux pk adds a lot to the RX plus the ML sound is awesome, I have it in my GX. I tried for two months to find one with those options. Had to settle for a 15 with comfort & premium. What are the colors?

I have a 2010 RX350 AWD and it may have saved my life while driving in a sudden torrential rain storm last week in ATL. Going to pick-up the wife at the airport and hit several unexpected large puddles that ordinarily would have me hydroplaning out of control. Instead all they did was slow me down as I just plowed through them. In my opinion AWD not just for snow and ice. My wife feels so much more secure with the AWD that she wants our next one to be AWD also. MPG difference seems minimal at best. I'd go for the luxury.

Thank you, guys! Picked fully loaded 2014 with awd, it's beyond awesome. It has white exterior with saddle interior. ML makes a big difference, even my wife noticed right away. Dealer said they still had it (driven only 70 miles) because awd is not very popular in SoCal but I will put it to use in Texas

^ congratulations on your purchase. Im sure you will enjoy the RX 350.
However, 70 miles is a lot for a new car.

Evrytime i take delivery, odometer is usually 3-8.
Anything over 20 miles, i'll ask the dealer for some additional discount or free maintenance after the 10,000 complimentary.

Maybe it's just me.

I got over 4k in extra packages. And I did negotiate extra $400 off.

Smart choice. AWD is much more sure-footed than FWD, wet or dry. We have a FWD RX and when I go half way down on the accelerator while going around a 90 degree corner, the front end has a mind of it's own. I have to come off the gas to regain control.
Keep us posted on your progress with your new ride. Congratulations.
