My only complaint, no wiper blade. Backing up in the rain, 1 droplet obscures most of the view.

 

Location makes sense for parallel parking. The image quality is a different story, but does help a ton still when backing up. More than anything I wish it had guide lines.

 

My minor gripe with the camera is that the image gets overlaid by the various phone status messages at the top; 'phone connected successfully', and 'all items updated' (or similar - I forget the exact wording, but they relate to Bluetooth / phone connection progress). It may seem minor but I'm always reversing before these messages are done, and it blocks part of the 'view'. No biggie but they should not allow those status messages to overlay the image.


I don't mind the lack of lines at all; my last car had them and I find it refreshing to have just a nice plain picture! And my image is nice and bright at night.

 

I agree with the comment above as my 2013 RX450h does the same thing. Also, for a number of months, at times it has taken 10 secs or more after shifting to Reverse for the display to show the backup picture. In many cases, it doesn't take much more than 10 secs to back out of a parking space, so the pic may not even come on before I am back in Drive. The service guy at the local dealer has told me that there is a system problem that is causing that causing that delay, that the screen has to connect to the wireless system before the backup camera display will come on. That sounds similar to the problems the 4th gen RX's had back in June, which supposedly have been fixed. This delay does not happen all of the time. Anyone else experienced it, and even have a solution for it?

Mine does not display phone connected messages. I believe it did prior to having a "latest" system update installed back in 2013.
